About Urswick

Urswick is comprised of two villages called Great Urswick and Little Urswick, which are separated by a tarn; the tarn hosts some wonderful wildlife and is occupied by an array of water birds. Local amenities include one pub The Derby Arms, which offers a great selection of real ales and a games room where you can play pool and darts and a pub/restaurant The General Burgoyne offering a great selection of local ales and a very well priced food menu, which is all homemade to order. Urswick is a lovely village situated just 3 miles south of the popular market town of Ulverston where a street market is held every Thursday and Saturday featuring a large variety of local produce as well as some lovely shops, pubs and restaurants a cinema and a leisure centre. Urswick is ideally situated to be within easy reach of the Lake District National Park, where there are a massive variety of things to do and sites to see, local attractions include the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Muncaster Castle and the Aquarium of the Lakes.
